§ 20-60-206 — Secretary of the Department of Agriculture - Powers and duties - State Meat Inspection Program

(a)(1) (A) The Secretary of the Department of Agriculture shall promulgate rules and appoint qualified personnel as necessary to carry out the purposes or provisions of this subchapter.
(B)The rules shall be in conformity with the rules and regulations under the Federal Meat Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. § 601 et seq., as in effect on January 1, 2021, and with subsequent amendments of the Federal Meat Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. § 601 et seq., unless the rules and regulations under the Federal Meat Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. § 601 et seq., are considered by the secretary as not to be in accord with the objectives of this subchapter.
(2)(A) Notice of proposed rules shall be given to all establishments licensed under this subchapter.
