Text

(a)The superintendent of a state institution other than a human development center may report to the examining physicians and request the examination of any individual therein deemed intellectually disabled.
(b)Upon receipt of the report and request, the examining physicians shall conduct the examination in the county in which the institution having custody of the individual is located and, in the event that it is determined by the examining physicians that the individual is intellectually disabled and will benefit by the services offered by the center, shall file a petition showing those facts with the court originally committing the individual to the institution.
(c)Upon receipt of the petition, the court may order the individual transferred to a center.
