§ 20-46-102 — Liability of hospital utilization committee members

(a)Physicians and others appointed to hospital utilization review committees for the purpose of determining questions relating to the hospitalization of Medicare patients under the provisions of Pub. L. No. 89-97, which is the Medicare law, shall be immune from liability with respect to decisions made as to these questions so long as the physicians or others act in good faith and without malice.
(b)Nothing in this act shall be construed to relieve any patient's personal physician of any liability which he or she may have in connection with the treatment of the patient.
