(a)(1) On and after the effective date of rules adopted by the Elevator Safety Board under § 20-24-107(a) and (b) , detailed plans and specifications of the elevator, dumbwaiter, or escalator to be thereafter installed, relocated, or altered shall be submitted by the contractor, or in the absence of an installing contractor, by a person or the owner, to the Department of Labor and Licensing. An application for a construction or alteration permit on forms to be furnished or approved by the department shall be submitted at the same time.
(2)Repairs or replacements normally necessary for maintenance may be made on existing installations with parts equivalent in material, strength, and design to those replaced. No plans or specifications or applications need be filed for the repairs or repla
