Text

(a)The General Assembly finds that:
(1)The specialized and hazardous nature of firefighting requires that firefighters possess the requisite knowledge and demonstrate the ability to perform certain skills to carry our their responsibilities; and (2) The activities of firefighters are important to the health, safety, and welfare of the people of this state.
(b)It is the intent of the General Assembly to require minimum standards for training for entry level, full-time firefighters.
