Text

(a)(1) For each divorce or annulment granted by any court in this state, a record shall be filed by the clerk of court with the Division of Vital Records and shall be registered if it has been completed and filed in accordance with this section.
(2)The record shall be prepared on a form prescribed and furnished by the State Registrar of Vital Records by the petitioner or his or her legal representative and shall be presented to the clerk of court with the petition.
(3)In all cases, the completed record shall be a prerequisite to the entry of the decree.
(b)The clerk of court shall complete and forward to the division on or before the thirtieth day of each calendar month the records of each divorce or annulment filed with him or her during the preceding calendar month.
