§ 15-75-201 — Members

(a) The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board shall consist of seven (7) members who are residents of the State of Arkansas, at least twenty-one (21) years of age, of good moral character, and who shall be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. (b) (1) There shall be one (1) member appointed by the Governor from each congressional district, as the districts existed on January 1, 2007. (2) There shall be three (3) at-large members appointed by the Governor. (3) (A) (i) A board member appointed before July 31, 2007 shall serve the remainder of his or her previously appointed six-year term. (ii) For a board member appointed after July 31, 2007 the term of office shall be four (4) years. (B) (i) No board member appointed after July 31, 2007 may serve more than two (2) consecutive four-year terms. (ii) Subdivision (b)(3)(B)(i) of this section does not preclude a former board member from serving again if he or she has not served as a member of the board for at least four (4) consecutive years. (4) The board shall have at least one (1) member who: (A) Represents the general public; and (B) Is not employed by, engaged in, or retired from the liquefied petroleum gas industry in any manner. (c) After appointment and before entering upon his or her respective duties, each member of the board shall take and subscribe and file in the office of the Secretary of State the oath of office prescribed by Arkansas Constitution, Article 19, § 20. (d) Members of the board shall not receive compensation for their services but may receive expense reimbursement and stipends in accordance with § 25-16-901 et seq.
