(a)Any city of the first class having a mayor-council form of government in which the city has established a municipal auditorium commission, as authorized in this chapter, which may desire to increase the membership of the commission by two (2) members in addition to the members thereof provided by § 14-141-104 may, upon the adoption of an ordinance therefor, enlarge the membership of the commission by two (2) additional members.
(b)(1) The members shall be appointed in the same manner as provided in § 14-141-104 .
(2)The first additional members appointed to the commission shall be appointed for terms designated by the mayor, with the term of one (1) member to expire six (6) years from the date of the appointment, and the term of the other member to expire seven (7) years from the dat

(c) Nothing in this section shall affect or reduce the term of any member then serving on the commission. However, upon the expiration of the term of office of any member of the commission then serving, the successor member shall be appointed for a term of seven (7) years in order that the full membership of the commission shall consist of members appointed for staggered terms, with the term of one (1) member expiring each year. (d) The provisions of this section shall be cumulative and supplemental to the provisions of this chapter and are not intended to modify or repeal any part or provision of this chapter unless specifically in conflict with this section. (e) It is the sole purpose of this section to authorize the city council of a city of the first class in this state having a municipal auditorium commission to elect, by adoption of an ordinance therefor, to enlarge the membership of the municipal auditorium commission from five (5) to seven (7) members without disturbing the terms of any of the existing members, and to make the necessary adjustments in the terms of those members in order that successor members will be appointed for seven-year terms.
