§ 14-14-106 — Notice by mailing

(a) (1) Notice by mailing shall be as provided by law or the ordinance of the county quorum court providing for notice by mailing. (2) In those instances where a county government requires that notice of hearing or other official act be given by mail and the procedures therefor are not set forth by law or ordinance, the notice by mailing shall be made not less than seven (7) days nor more than thirty (30) days prior to the action to be taken, and the requirements of the notice shall be met by: (A) Deposit of the notice properly addressed in the United States mail, with postage paid at the first-class rate; (B) Sending the notice by registered or certified mail rather than first class; or (C) Mailing the notice at the bulk rate instead of first class when notice is to be given by mail to all electors or residents of a county government. (b) All notices by mailing shall contain: (1) The date, time, and place at which the hearing or other action will be taken; (2) A brief statement of the action to be taken; and (3) Any other information required by the specific section requiring mail notice.
