§ 12-41-602 — Definitions

As used in this subchapter: (1) "Board" means the county jail board established under the provisions of this subchapter; (2) "Bonds" means bonds and any series of bonds authorized by and issued pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter; (3) (A) "Construct" means to acquire, construct, reconstruct, remodel, install, and equip any lands, buildings, structures, improvements, or other real, personal, or mixed property useful in connection with the county jail or jail facilities, and to make other necessary expenditures in connection therewith, by such methods and in such manner as may be authorized by law. (B) "Construct" also includes payment or provision for expenses incidental thereto; (4) "Expansion" means any additions, extensions, or improvements to the county jail or jail facilities and may include any necessary or appropriate remodeling and improvement to the present jail and its facilities, with appropriate equipment and furnishings, as determined by the board; (5) "Fees" means the fees authorized in this subchapter to be collected as additional costs in all convictions or any commitments to the county jail in the circuit court, probate division of circuit court, or district courts of the county; (6) "Jail" means the county jail and jail facilities of the county; and (7) "Pledged revenues" means all revenues authorized by this subchapter to be pledged for the security and payment of the bonds.
