Text

(a)(1) There is created a State Crime Laboratory Board.
(2)(A) The members of the board shall be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
(B)However, a vacancy may be temporarily filled by the Governor subject to confirmation of the Senate.
(b)The members appointed by the Governor shall be composed of:
(1)One (1) member of the active judiciary;
(2)One (1) practicing member of the legal profession;
(3)One (1) active county sheriff;
(4)One (1) active chief of police;
(5)One (1) active prosecuting attorney;
(6)Two (2) physicians engaged in the active practice of private or academic medicine; and (7) One (1) member at large from the state.
(c)(1) Appointments to the board shall be for a term of seven (7) years.
