Text
(a)The State Crime Laboratory shall:
(1)Receive, store, and perform analyses on DNA samples or contract for DNA typing analysis with a qualified DNA laboratory that meets guidelines as established by the State Crime Laboratory;
(2)Classify and file the DNA record of identification characteristic profiles of DNA samples submitted under this subchapter; and (3) Make information available from the State DNA Data Base as provided in this section.
(b)The results of the DNA profile of individuals in the State DNA Data Base shall be made available:
(1)To a criminal justice agency or to an approved crime laboratory that serves a criminal justice agency; or (2) To a criminal justice official upon written or electronic request from the criminal justice official and in furtherance of an official
