In pursuance of Article III of said compact there shall be three representatives from Alabama to the commission created therein to be selected as follows: The Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources shall, ex officio, be a representative of the State of Alabama on said commission; one representative shall be from time to time elected by the Legislature from its membership, and such representative shall serve for a four-year period from the date of his election or until his successor shall have been elected; and the other representative shall be appointed by the Governor by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, and such representative shall be a citizen of the State of Alabama having a knowledge of and interest in marine fisheries’ problems.
