Text
(a)Commencing with the election of the license commissioner in the 1980 election, the term of office shall be for six years from January
1981
and shall be filled by the majority of the qualified electors voting
at the primary or general election held
in 1980
for county-wide offices which terms commence in 1981
and every six years thereafter.
(b)Notice of the election shall be given by the judge of probate, which
shall be published once a week for three successive weeks before the day of the election.
(c)Candidates for the office shall qualify as other candidates for county office.
(d)The judge of probate shall certify the results of the election to the Secretary of State in the same manner as is required for all local or general elections.
