Text
(a)The Board of Education of Butler County, Alabama, shall consist of five members, a chairman and four associate members, who are qualified electors of the county.
(b)One associate member shall be elected from each of the four commissioner’s districts constituted by Local Act No. 183, Local Acts, 1945, page 99. Associate members must reside within the district they represent, and they shall be nominated and elected by the qualified electors of the entire county. The chairman of the board may reside anywhere in the county, and shall be nominated and elected by the qualified electors of the entire county. Except as otherwise hereinafter provided, the chairman and the associate members shall be elected for terms of four years or until their successors are elected and qualified, their terms
