(a)The Judge of Probate of Shelby County is hereby authorized and empowered to delegate and assign to the chief clerk and other clerks and personnel in the probate office such duties and authority of supervision and ministerial functions, with which he or she is now authorized and charged by law, as in his or her discretion may be necessary or convenient for the efficient operation of the office of the probate court of the county, and to designate as clerk of the probate court the chief clerk.
(b)The chief clerk of the probate court shall have the authority of clerk and register of the probate court, and, in addition to the powers and authority now prescribed by law, shall have the powers and authority to sign certificates of copies of all decrees, orders, and papers, issued by the proba
