Text

(a)In Shelby County, after May 16, 2008, the coroner shall continue to receive the salary and expense allowance the coroner is receiving on May 16, 2008, subject to any adjustments as further provided herein.
(b)The Shelby County Commission may set the compensation and any expense allowance for the coroner by resolution of the commission. Any salary or expense allowance provided pursuant to this section shall be paid out of the general fund of the county. The county commission may in addition provide for any necessary expenses for the operation of the office of coroner and otherwise provide for the operation of the office, including providing as a condition for an increase in salary or expense allowance pursuant to this section, that the coroner serve on a full-time basis.
