Text

(a)The Judge of Probate of Shelby County shall order an election to be held in the proposed district on the question or questions when a petition is filed in the office of the judge of probate requesting an election.
(b)The petition shall be signed by at least 100 persons who are qualified electors residing within the boundaries of the proposed district.
(c)The petition shall contain a legal description of the area which the petition proposes to be established as a district under this part; and the petition shall request the judge of probate to call an election on one or more of the following questions: Shall there be created for the area a district for public library service?
(d)The petition shall state the name of the proposed district. The library board of a district may change the
