The terms of the board members shall be as follows: The initial board shall begin their terms on June 1, 2008. The board member appointed by nomination by the Shelby County Commission shall serve an initial term of one year. The board member appointed by nomination by the Shelby County Board of Education shall serve an initial term of two years. The board member appointed by nomination by the mayors of the municipalities having their sole places of government within Shelby County shall serve an initial term of three years. After the initial term, the term of each board member shall be four years. Each board member shall serve until a successor is appointed and qualified.
