Text

The board shall be composed of three members appointed as provided in this section. During the month of May 2008, the County Commission of Shelby County shall appoint three members to the board from nominations made as follows: The Shelby County Board of Education shall make one nomination; the Shelby County Commission shall make one nomination; and the mayors of the municipalities having their sole places of government within Shelby County shall jointly make one nomination. If no nomination is timely received by the county commission from any of the above, the county commission shall make an appointment of a member to the applicable place on the board from a listing of its own choosing.
