Text

As used in this subpart, unless the context clearly requires a different meaning:

(1)APPOINTING AUTHORITY. In the case of municipal employees means elected officers, where applicable, otherwise the applicable municipal governing body; and in the case of county employees, the sheriff, or other elected officials vested with powers to appoint law enforcement employees as provided by law.
(2)BOARD. The Shelby County Law Enforcement Personnel Board created by this subpart.
(3)CITY. Any municipality employing law enforcement officers in Shelby County.
(4)EMPLOYEE. Any person, not excepted by Section 45–58–231.21 who is employed in the service of any city or the county in Shelby County within the various law enforcement departments.
