Text

(a)In Pike County, the Chair of the Pike County Commission shall be elected from the membership of the commission at the first meeting of the commission after May 10, 1993. The chair shall serve until the first meeting of the commission in November of 1993. Thereafter, annually in the month of November, the Pike County Commission shall elect a chair to serve for one year. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent a chair of the commission from seeking consecutive terms.
(b)The person elected as chair shall receive an annual salary of five thousand dollars ($5,000) payable in the manner prescribed by the county commission. The salary received by the chair shall be in addition to the salary for commissioner as compensation for serving as Chair of the Pike County Commission.
