(a)Effective beginning on May 1, 2022, the Judge of Probate of Pickens County shall receive an additional expense allowance in an amount equal to the difference in the salary of the judge of probate on April 5, 2022, and eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) per year payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county. This expense allowance shall be in addition to any other salary, expense allowance, or compensation the judge of probate is receiving.

(b)Effective beginning the next term of office after April 5, 2022, the Judge of Probate of Pickens County shall receive an annual salary of eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) per year, and subsection (a) shall be void.
