§ 45-54-170 — Board of Health Fees

(a) The Pickens County Board of Health shall designate the services rendered by the Pickens County Health Department for which a reasonable fee may be charged and shall set the maximum allowable fee to be charged for each service.
(b)
The Pickens County Health Department shall be authorized to charge and collect such fees.
All fees collected shall be in addition to any and all federal, state, and local appropriations.
Any fees collected shall be processed in accordance with the recommendations of the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts.
(c)
No citizen shall be denied any service because that person is unable to pay.
Pickens County Board of Health may establish a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay.
(d)
This section shall not apply to nor affect any fees otherwise authorized, set, and collected under state, local, or federal law or regulation.
(e)
All fees collected pursuant to this section are appropriated to the Pickens County Health Department which collected the fees.
