(a)Pursuant to Section 45-53-111 and 45-53-111.01, Perry County is divided into five districts, as provided herein, for the purpose of electing members of the county commission and members of the board of education.
(b)(1) The Perry County Commission and the Perry County Board of Education shall consist of five members each who shall be residents of that district. One member shall be elected from each of the five districts for that body by the electors residing within the district. Each member of the county commission shall reside in the district he or she represents during his or her term of office. Each body shall select its chair from among its membership.
