Text

(a)The Sheriff of Morgan County as part of his or her work release program may authorize inmates in the Morgan County Jail who have trustee status to wash and clean automobiles, trucks, and other motor vehicles for a fee to be established and received by the sheriff. Ten percent of the fee collected shall be remitted to the Morgan County Commission for deposit to the county general fund; 30 percent of the fee collected shall be deposited to the car wash fund referred to in subsection (b); and the remainder of the fee shall be paid or credited to the account of the inmate performing the work.
(b)The portion of the fees retained by the sheriff pursuant to this section shall be deposited by the sheriff in a bank located in Morgan County, selected by the sheriff, and credited to a fund to be
