Text
Every person who shall be elected or appointed to the office of member of the council, on or before the second Tuesday of November following his or her election or before the Tuesday following the date of his or her appointment, shall qualify by making oath that he or she is eligible for the office and will execute the duties of same according to the best of his or her knowledge and ability. The oath may be administered by any person authorized to administer an oath under the laws of Alabama.
