Text

(a)The Sheriff of Marshall County may employ, subject to the approval of the county commission and within the budget of the sheriff’s office as provided by the county commission, employees necessary to carry out the purposes of the office.
(b)The Sheriff of Marshall County shall be entitled to receive the allowance provided for by Sections 14-6-42 and 14-6-43, as amended, for the feeding of prisoners in the county jail, and for preparing and serving such food. On or before the tenth day of each month the sheriff of the county shall furnish to the governing body of the county, and to the State Department of Finance and to the State Department of Corrections, an itemized statement, verified by name, race, and sex, the offense charged, authority for committing, disposition of prisoner, if s
