AMENDED
BY ACT 2026-5 AND 2026-14, EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2026. SEE ACTS FOR REVISED LANGUAGE.
A custodian of voting machines shall be appointed by a committee composed of the senior circuit judge, who shall also be the chair, the judge of probate, tax collector, sheriff, and the county judge. Such custodian of voting machines shall have attended a recognized school that teaches the operation and handling of voting machines, or in lieu thereof must have had at least three years’ experience in the operation and handling of voting machines. The custodian shall be responsible for performing all duties as set out in Section 17-9-28.
