In Marion County, the sheriff is hereby authorized to appoint the following employees: A total of six deputy sheriffs; a total of four communications operators; and a total of four jailers. The minimum salaries of the employees shall be set at the same amount they are receiving on May 6, 1980. The county commission shall provide for the payment of the salaries out of the general fund of the county.
