Text

(a)Beginning on June 1, 2024, the Sheriff of Marion County shall receive an additional expense allowance in an amount that brings his or her total compensation to eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) per year to be paid out of the county general fund. The expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other compensation, salary, or expense allowances provided by law.
(b)Beginning with the next term of office commencing after June 1, 2024, the expense allowance provided in subsection (a) shall be void, and the Sheriff of Marion County shall receive a total yearly salary of eighty thousand dollars ($80,000), which shall be in lieu of any other compensation, salary, or expense allowance provided by law for the sheriff for the performance of his or her official duties.
