The president of the board of revenue shall be its presiding officer, and shall sign the minutes of the proceedings of the board of revenue, and shall be a member thereof and shall have the same rights, privileges, powers, and authority, and perform the same duties as the other members thereof, and shall sign all warrants drawn on the county treasury, and all orders for the payment or disbursement of money or funds of the county, and shall sign all contracts entered into by the Board of Revenue of Marengo County. It shall be his or her duty to prepare the order of business and obtain information for the sessions of the board of revenue and shall see that all orders thereof are properly executed. He or she shall, in addition, perform all the duties now required of the judge of probate as to

It shall be his or her duty to prepare the order of business and obtain information for the sessions of the board of revenue and shall see that all orders thereof are properly executed. He or she shall, in addition, perform all the duties now required of the judge of probate as to matters coming before the court of county commissioners. In event the president of the board of revenue shall, for any cause, be absent from any session of the board of revenue, the other members present thereat, by a majority vote, which shall be spread upon the minutes of such session of the board, shall elect one of the members of the board of revenue a president pro tem, who shall preside over such session, sign the minutes of the proceedings of such session of the board of revenue, and shall have the same rights, privileges, powers, and authority and perform the same duties as the president of the board of revenue is authorized to perform when personally present and presiding over the session, and shall sign all warrants drawn on the county treasury and all orders for the payment or distribution of money or funds of the county authorized at such session wherein he or she shall act as president pro tem, and shall sign all contracts entered into by the Board of Revenue of Marengo County authorized at the session over which he or she shall preside; and such president pro tem shall perform all acts and duties at the session over which he or she so presides as would devolve upon the president of the board of revenue if he or she were present.
