Text

(a)(1) Effective June 1, 2025, the Coroner of Marengo County shall receive an expense allowance in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000) per month, to be paid in equal monthly installments from the county general fund. The expense allowance shall be in addition to the mileage allowance and in lieu of any expense allowances heretofore provided by law for the coroner.
(2)The Marengo County Commission, by resolution, may authorize the coroner to employ a deputy coroner to serve at the pleasure of the coroner. The deputy coroner shall receive an expense allowance set by the county commission, payable monthly from the county general fund.
(b)Effective June 1, 2025, the Marengo County Commission may set the mileage allowance for the county coroner and the deputy corner. The mileage allow
