Text

(a)The Sheriff of Madison County may charge a fee of ten dollars ($10) for fingerprinting persons for passport identification, employment purposes, or other personal reasons; however, a fee may not be charged if the fingerprinting is performed for a public purpose or on behalf of a public entity. The fee provided by this section shall not apply to a person applying for a pistol permit.
(b)The fees collected shall be paid over to the Madison County Commission and be placed into a separate account entitled the Madison County Fingerprint Account to be used for the betterment of Madison County law enforcement available upon requisition of the sheriff for that purpose.
