Text

(a)Any individual employed by the office of the Sheriff of Madison County as a detention officer who has served as a Madison County detention officer for a minimum of 10 years, who retires under the Retirement Systems of Alabama in good standing, and who is at least 62 years of age may receive from the sheriff, without cost, a commemorative badge designed by the office of the sheriff to be paid from the discretionary fund of the sheriff.
(b)Any individual employed by the office of the Sheriff of Madison County as a detention officer who has served as a Madison County detention officer for 25 consecutive years or more and who retires from the office in good standing may receive from the sheriff, without cost, a commemorative badge designed by the office of the sheriff and a commemorative
