Text

(a)Any newly-elected Sheriff of Madison County shall receive a base salary of one hundred seventy thousand dollars ($170,000) per year, effective as of the first full pay period after the start of the newly-elected sheriff’s first term in office, which begins on the first Monday after the second Tuesday of January next after the sheriff’s election pursuant to Section 36-3-4.
(b)After serving a first full four-year term in office, if the sheriff is re-elected to a second successive term, the sheriff shall receive a 7.5 percent salary increase, effective as of the first full pay period after the start of the sheriff’s second successive term, which begins on the first Monday after the second Tuesday of January next after the sheriff’s selection pursuant to Section 36-3-4.
