Text

(a)The mayor shall appoint, subject to commission approval, a metropolitan manager, who shall be an officer of the metropolitan-government, and shall have the powers to perform the duties required. No sitting member of the metropolitan-government shall be appointed manager. Any civil service act (applicable to the municipality) shall not apply to the appointment or the removal of the manager.
(b)A temporary or acting manager may be designated, subject to commission approval, to serve for not more than four months in these events, but only under the following circumstance:
(1)When the first mayor takes office after adoption of this part; or (2) following the removal of any permanent metropolitan manager.
(c)Such temporary acting manager shall perform the duties and assume the obligation
