(a)The Lawrence County Commission may adopt a new county personnel system for county employees pursuant to the authority granted in Amendment 909 to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Section 43.02 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901.
(b)Effective upon the effective date of the new county personnel system adopted by the Lawrence County Commission as provided for in subsection (a), the employees of Lawrence County on that date under the existing civil service system shall be transferred in their status on that date to the new personnel system.
