Text

The Lamar County Commission may set the amount the sheriff charges for the feeding of municipal inmates in the county jail. After September 1, 2023, the county commission shall set the amount the municipality pays at five dollars ($5) per day for municipal inmates held in the county jail. The county commission each fiscal year may review the amount of the payment and may adjust the amount to reasonably cover increases in the expenses by the sheriff. All proceeds from the fees shall be deposited in the municipal feeding account of the sheriff’s office.
