Text

(a)In the event of a vacancy of the council, the council shall elect a successor for the remainder of the term from the district from which the riginal district member was elected. Such person shall be a qualified elector in the municipality and shall meet all other legal qualifications required by law for the residency and performance of duties of the office to which elected.
(b)In the event of a vacancy in the office of president of the council, the president pro tempore of the council shall succeed to the presidency of the council for the remainder of the term. The council shall then elect, as soon as practicable, a successor to the president pro tempore and shall also elect to the council, a successor for the remainder of the term from the district from which the original president p
