Text

(a)The coroner shall be elected at the general election and every four years thereafter, and shall serve for a term of four years.
(b)The coroner shall appoint a chief deputy coroner from the judicial circuit division of the county where the elected coroner does not reside. The chief deputy coroner shall be entitled to compensation in the amount of four hundred dollars ($400) per month. The coroner may appoint one deputy coroner. The deputy coroner shall be entitled to compensation in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300) per month. The Coffee County Commission may adjust the compensation and any expense allowance for the chief deputy coroner or deputy coroner by resolution of the commission.
