(a)Effective beginning the next term of office of the sheriff commencing in January 2027, the Sheriff of Cleburne County shall receive a salary of seventy-two thousand dollars ($72,000) per year payable in installments as provided on June 1, 2025. The salary provided by this section shall supersede any salary provided to the sheriff prior to June 1, 2025.
(b)Commencing October 2028 and thereafter, the sheriff shall be entitled to receive any cost-of-living increases granted to county officers and employees, notwithstanding any law to the contrary.
