(a)(1) Effective beginning May 1, 2025, the County Commissioners of Clarke County shall receive an annual expense allowance of eight thousand dollars ($8,000), payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county.
(2)This expense allowance shall be in addition to all other compensation or benefits granted to the county commissioners and may be treated as compensation for retirement purposes.
(b)Effective beginning the next term of office after April 18, 2025, for any county commissioner, the annual salary of each county commissioner shall be increased by eight thousand dollars ($8,000), and the expense allowance provided in subsection (a) shall be void.
