Text

(a)(1) Effective beginning with the next term of office, the Sheriff of Cherokee County shall receive an annual salary that is 60 percent of the annual salary of the District Attorney of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, except as otherwise provided in subdivision (2).
(2)Subdivision (1) does not apply if the result would be a reduction in the annual salary of the sheriff.
(b)Effective beginning with the next term of office, the Sheriff of Cherokee County shall annually complete a minimum of 12 hours of executive level training approved by the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission.
