The commission shall consist of 21 members, one of whom shall be the Governor, one of whom shall be the Lieutenant Governor, one of whom shall be the Speaker of the House of Representatives, one of whom shall be the Director of the Department of Archives and History, one of whom shall be the Director of the Alabama Tourism Department, one of whom shall be the Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources, one of whom shall be the Director of the Technical Staff of the Division of Construction Management of the Department of Finance, and 14 other persons to be appointed by the Governor, one of whom shall be selected from a list of three nominees submitted by the Alabama Council of the American Institute of Architects, one from a list of three nominees submitted by the Alabama Historica
