Each citizen member of the commission shall receive the same daily expense, mileage, and travel allowance for each day he or she attends a commission meeting as authorized for state employees attending state business. Each legislator serving on the commission shall receive his or her regular legislative compensation, per diem, and travel expenses for each day he or she attends a meeting of the commission. Upon requisitions signed by the chair of the commission, these payments shall be paid out of any funds appropriated to the use of the commission by means of warrants drawn by the state Comptroller on the State Treasury. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no legislative member shall receive additional compensation or per diem for a meeting day on the commission when he or she attends a regular
