In accordance with “The Historical Preservation Authorities Act of 1979,” excluding any sections relating to the National Register of Historic Places as a qualifying element to establish a public corporation and exempting any corporation formed under the authority of said act from any listing on the National Register of Historic Places, a public corporation may be formed under the provisions of this section and said act for purposes of establishing the Africatown, U.S.A. Historic Preservation Authority. It shall be the duty of the authority to study, consider, accumulate, compile, assemble, and disseminate information on any aspect of Africatown, U.S.A. State Park; to confer with appropriate officials of local, state, and federal governments and agencies on matters related to any national
