Every private examining or collecting firm shall pay a separate annual state license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25), no later than October 1 of each year or within 30 days of entering into a contract with a county or municipality, with proceeds to be paid by the state Comptroller to the Alabama Local Tax Institute of Standards and Training established under Section 40-2A-15, for the administration of the institute’s examiner certification program. If the firm has engaged more than one examiner, each such person so engaged shall pay the separate license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) within 30 days of being hired by the private examining or collecting firm.
