Text

(a)Beginning October 1, 2020, the application fee prescribed in Section 40-12-392 shall be equal to the average of the annual dealer license fees, as of January 1, 2020, of the contiguous states to Alabama and shall be rounded to the nearest twenty-five dollars ($25). The Department of Revenue may adjust these fees once every five years thereafter using the same calculation; provided, the adjusted fee may not exceed the application fee provided under Section 40-12-413.
(b)On or after October 1, 2022, the Department of Revenue, by rule, may establish a biennial license in lieu of the annual license provided under Section 40-12-391. The application fee for the biennial license may not exceed double the amount charged for the application fee or for the annual license.
