§ 38-3-1 — Creation; Advisory Board of Directors

(a)There is hereby created the Department of Senior Services of the State of Alabama, which shall be under the direction and control of the Commissioner of the Department of Senior Services.
(b)There is created an advisory board of directors that shall consist of 17 members and shall advise the commissioner in the administration of the department. The advisory board shall be composed of two members of the Senate to be appointed by the President of the Senate; two members of the House of Representatives to be appointed by the Speaker of the House; the Secretary of the State Department of Labor or his or her designee, the State Health Officer or his or her designee, and the Commissioner of the State Department of Human Resources or his or her designee, as ex officio members; and 10 members
